You can use two stock springs with a Floyd Rose guitar, you just have to adjust the spring claw to account for the difference in tension. I also have a Gotoh Floyd-equipped guitar and attempted the 2 stock springs setup on that guitar after watching the following video: ![]() PROMISED UPDATE 01/17/17: After ordering the Gotoh PSP springs and setting up the EVH Wolfgang USA, I did not care for the stiffer feel of the 2 PSP springs. What type of spring would I need to be able to use a two spring setup? I use 9-42 strings. I much prefer the looser feel of two springs. ![]() The springs supplied with the guitar are too weak to keep the bridge flat when bending or doing double stops. The Floyd lowers pitch only, = non-floating. I'd like to decrease that to two springs. I've got a guitar equipped with a Floyd Rose bridge, and three springs. ![]()
